How to Re-create Hayden Panettiere's Golden Globe Eye Makeup
For the 2009 Golden Globe Awards, "Heroes" actress Hayden Panettiere wore a smoky eye that featured an eggplant eye shadow defined by black eyeliner. Because Hayden's makeup is so dramatic, it is best for evening wear and should be worn with the hair up, to keep all attention on the eyes. Neutral clothing choices would also be wise for this makeup look, which would be flattering for any skin or eye color.

1
Apply eye primer to the eyelids and lower lash line with your fingers. Eye primer is a cream or gel that prevents makeup from creasing or fading on the eye.
-
2
Apply a bronze-colored cream eye shadow onto the entire eyelid with your finger, and use a liner brush to line the lower lash line with this color. The bronze color will be a reflective contrast to the dark color on the eyelid.
-
3
Use a shadow brush to apply an eggplant-colored shadow to the eyelid over the bronze.
-
4
Use a liner brush to apply an iridescent lilac eye shadow to the inner corner of the eye.
-
5
Use a crease brush to apply a light brown eye shadow to the outer corner of the eye and blend inward toward the inner third of the eyelid. To blend without smudging, work the brush in a gentle, circular motion to meld the eggplant and brown together.
-
6
Apply lavender eye shadow to the crease with a crease brush.
-
7
Use a blending brush to pat black eye shadow into the outer corner of the eye and sweep it inward toward the crease. Do not bring the color past the middle of your eyebrow.
-
8
Apply a highlight powder to your brow bone using a highlighting brush.
-
9
Apply black liquid eyeliner to the upper and lower lash line. Make sure that the lines are fine and neat. The eyeliner should not look smudged in any way.
-
10
Apply black volumizing mascara to the eyelashes to get a plush, full look.
