How to Make Miniature Books

With a sheet of paper and a scissors, you can make a miniature book in about a minute. Make a few and put them in your handbag for notes, add them to scrapbooks or use them as miniature scrapbooks. Or make some for your kids to decorate. These books can spark creativity at any age.

Things You'll Need

• 8.5- by 11-inch sheet of paper
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Fold the paper lengthwise along the center, matching the edges. Unfold the paper.

2. Fold the paper in half crosswise, matching the edges.

3. Repeat the crosswise fold and unfold it. Your paper is folded in half crosswise, with two center creases, one horizontal and one vertical.

4. Cut along the vertical center crease from the fold just to the horizontal crease. Do not cut all the way across the paper.

5. Unfold and turn the paper horizontally. Grasp the folds on either side of the cut you just made, and move your hands toward one another, folding the paper into a book.

6. Decorate your eight-page book.

Tips & Warnings

• Use your fingernail or a bone folder on each fold to make sharp creases.

• You can use this technique with any size paper.
