How to Decorate a Free Father's Day Card

Rather than giving your dad a Father's Day card you bought in a store, for no money you can create a unique card just for him. Cards can be created for free on the Internet, including images and text, then printed and delivered. For an added touch, you can customize these cards with photos and handwritten messages. These cards can be saved by your father as a reminder of how much he means to you every day.

Instructions

    • 1

Log onto a free card-printing website. Two examples are 123 Print Cards and DLTK's Custom Greeting Cards. These sites offer free card templates to print. You can also use an Internet search engine to find card sites.

    • 2

Select a card template. Depending on the site, you may be able to alter the image on the front of the card as well as any text.

    • 3

Preview your card before you print it. If you like, leave empty areas to customize it yourself after the card has been printed.

    • 4

Print the card on card stock paper. This thicker paper will give the card more weight and make it easier to add personal touches.

    • 5

Attach a photograph of you and your dad on the inside cover. Surround the picture with words that describe him or of fond memories.

    • 6

Write a personal note on the inside right page. Make the message stand out by using paint pens or felt-tipped pens.

    • 7

Add more personal touches, such as other pictures of your father or pictures of his favorite hobbies and activities.

    • 8

Write a small message on the back. Place the message in the center where a company name would usually appear on a store-bought card.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can bypass the initial template printing of your card and start with a heavy sheet of paper folded in half.
