How to Throw a New Year's Party in the Sims2

EA Games released the Sims 2 Holiday Edition expansion pack in 2005. With this extension, gamers were given the opportunity to deck the halls during the holiday season and throw various types of parties with new objects, such as a New Year's Eve bash. Whether you're an expert at all things Sims or this is your first time playing, hosting a New Year's party on the Sims 2 can be done in a few simple steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Pick a weekend to throw your party (preferably a Friday or Saturday night). This will ensure that the maximum number of invitees can attend because your neighboring Sims will likely be home from work.

    • 2

Have one of the Sims in your household make the phone call to "Throw New Year's Eve Party." Invite your closest friends. Enemies, or Sims that may not have a good relationship with your household, are less likely to come.

    • 3

Begin preparation for your party 2 to 3 hours (Sims time) ahead. Buy new items such as sparklers, party poppers, the "DinCo Box a Noise," and the "DinCo Crackers" to give your guests something to celebrate with at midnight. If you're cooking a meal for your guests, make sure to give your Sim enough time to create the dish (1 to 2 Sim hours). Otherwise, set up the buffet table and hire a bartender an hour prior to the beginning of the party.

    • 4

Turn on the television and stereo before the guests arrive. This will keep everyone entertained throughout the duration of the bash.

    • 5

Have a Sim ready to greet the first guest that arrives. This will persuade the rest of the invitees to welcome themselves in upon arrival without needing to be greeted.

Tips & Warnings

  • Invite guests to join your Sim in an activity (ex: relaxing in the jacuzzi, dancing) to keep them entertained and happy.

  • A boring party may result in your guests declining an invitation in the future.
