How to Make Coffee Body Soap

Coffee body soap is a simple, natural body soap that will help nourish and protect the skin throughout the day, as coffee is a natural sunscreen. It will also help wake coffee fans in the morning, as it does smell like coffee with a bit of cream added to it, though it will not make you smell like coffee all day. Making your own body soap can also save you a lot of money over buying expensive commercial products, which often have chemicals and additives in them that may be harmful to your health.

Things You'll Need

• 2 tsp. coffee beans
• 4 oz. glycerin soap
• 1 tsp. heavy whipping cream
• 1 tsp. aloe vera gel

Instructions

1. Grind the coffee beans to a fine powder in a coffee grinder.

2. Melt the glycerin soap over low heat in a saucepan until liquefied, about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the ground coffee. Stir gently with a glass stirrer.

3. Add the heavy whipping cream and aloe vera gel to the saucepan and stir. Pour the mixture into a bar soap mold and let set for four hours.

Tips & Warnings

• You can use 1 tsp. instant espresso if you prefer a less coarse soap.

• Avoid mixing or storing any type of homemade soap in an aluminum or copper container, as there is serious concern about heavy metals entering the final product.
