Once your book is written, it's time to get it into the hands of your devoted fans. Amazon.com makes self-publishing easy with its CreateSpace partnership. The website also allows previously published books to be added to its inventory, simplifying the steps to the day you see your name up in lights.

Selling Your Previously Published Book on Amazon

1. Go to Amazon.com using your web browser.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the main page and click "Sell on Amazon."

3. Based on your book inventory and projected need, select "Sell a Little" (best for users selling less than 40 items a month, has a $.99 per item handling fee) or "Sell a Lot" (best for high-inventory sellers, unlimited sales for $39.99 monthly).

4. Upload your book or list of several books to Amazon.com.

5. Customers see your book and purchase it. Amazon.com relays shipping information to you.

6. Amazon.com transfers payment to you.

Self-Publish with Amazon

1. Go to Amazon.com using your web browser.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the main page and click "Self-Publish with Us."

3. Select "CreateSpace" under Self Publishing.

4. The following page lists features about CreateSpace and offers a link to createspace.com. Click to the site.

5. Create a free account at createspace.com.

6. Submit your content and applicable cover artwork.

7. Select markets in which you with to sell your book, including Amazon.com.

• By publishing with Amazon.com, you may also make your book available for Kindle download, use Advantage to increase your sales by sending copies to Amazon.com directly or give customers the choice to "Look Inside," Amazon.com's unique option to see a sample chapter or table of contents.
