How to Make a French Lemon Twist

A French lemon twist is a simple drink that can be made in less than five minutes. Ideal for spring and summer outdoor parties or barbecues, this elegant and sophisticated drink is cool and refreshing. You can make French lemon twists ahead of time if you are having a large party, though it is best to make them right before serving if possible. This recipe makes one French lemon twist, though it is easily doubled or tripled for more drinks.

Things You'll Need

• 1 cup crushed ice
• 1/2 cup lemon sherbet
• 1/2 cup lemon sorbet
• 1/2 oz. lemon simple syrup
• 2 oz. vodka
• Slice of lemon (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Combine the crushed ice, lemon sherbet, lemon sorbet and lemon simple syrup in a blender.

2. Cover and blend on high for about 30 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

3. Add the vodka to the mixture and pulse to combine.

4. Transfer the cocktail to a martini glass or highball glass and garnish with a slice of lemon.

Tips & Warnings

• To make a French lemon twist without the alcohol, remove the vodka and add just a little more lemon sorbet or lemon sherbet. Or, if more lemon flavor is desired, add 2 oz. freshly-squeezed lemon juice.
