How to List Installed Patches
The Windows Update function provided with Windows downloads and installs patches and updates for the Windows operating system and various applications such as Microsoft Office. Windows Update may be run manually or may be configured to periodically check for updates and automatically download and install the patches. Windows keeps a running log of all installed updates. To view the Windows Update log, just a few simple steps are required.

Click the Windows "Start" button, and then click the "Control Panel" option.

Click the "Programs and Features" icon.

Click the "View Installed Updates" link on the left pane of the Programs and Features window. The Update log will search the hard drive and list all Microsoft product updates.

Scroll to the bottom of the list to view the updates for the Windows operating system.
