How to Answer Phone Calls on a Blackberry

The BlackBerry, developed by Research in Motion, is a smart phone that allows you to view many types of media, surf the Internet, and make and answer phone calls. Answering phone calls on the BlackBerry is one of the simplest tasks, as it is on any phone. There are a few ways to do it, such as automatically answering phone calls out of the holster or simply pressing the green "Answer" button.

  1. Manually Answer Calls

      Wait for an incoming call. You will either hear your BlackBerry's ringtone sound or feel it vibrate, depending on your settings, and the screen will light up.

      Press the green "Answer" button, located on the top left corner of the keyboard on all models except the Storm. This will answer the call. Press the red "Ignore" button to instantly send the caller to voicemail. The button is located on the top right corner of the keyboard on all models except the Storm.

      On the BlackBerry Storm, tap your finger on the green "Answer" icon on the touch screen. You can also press the green "Answer" button located on the left corner of the phone. Or press the red "Ignore" button to send callers to voicemail instantly.

    Automatically Answer Calls from the Holster

      Open the "Phone" application from the main menu.

      Press the BlackBerry menu button, located directly to the left of the trackball.

      Scroll down to "Options" and click on it.

      Click the trackball again to select "General Options."

      Click on the field for "Auto Answer Calls" and select "Out of Holster."
