How to Fix the Brightness Control on Windows Media Player

Changing the brightness settings in Windows Media Player is a simple and quick process. You will also have the ability to change other features located in the same screen, including hue, saturation, contrast and video size settings.

Instructions

    • 1

Open up Windows Media Player on your computer.

    • 2

Open a video in Windows Media Player.

    • 3

Go to the "Now Playing" tab on the top left of the media. Click on the down arrow underneath the tab and a drop down menu will appear.

    • 4

Scroll down and highlight "Enhancements." A new menu will appear to the right.

    • 5

Go to the bottom of the "Enhancements" menu and highlight and select "Video Settings." There will be a new window that appears at the bottom of the media player.

    • 6

Look at the bottom of the page in the new window that opened. You have four slide bars from which to choose. Go to the slide bar that has "Brightness" written over it and slide the bar to the right to increase the brightness.

Tips & Warnings

  • Windows Media Player will not save these settings, and you will need to go back into Video Settings each time you open up a new video file.
