Mix one quart of water with one-fourth cup of borax. Borax helps work as an anti-fungicide while also removing the mold and mildew.

Open the window to allow ventilation and air to help dry the window sash. Using a soft-bristled brush, apply the mixture to the window sash and begin to scrub the area while rinsing the brush regularly in a bucket of water. Add more cleaning solution as necessary.

Wipe any excess water off the window sash with a cloth rag. Allow the window sash to dry completely. If necessary, repeat the steps until the mold and mildew are completely gone.
