HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the latest digital multimedia standard that supports, with a single cable, both diverse video formats, including high definition video, and 8-channel audio. HDMI cables connect TV or computers to various electronics, such as DVDs, Blu-ray players and video game consoles. Linking several such cables is often necessary during building home theater systems and electronics relocations. A standard HDMI cable has identical male connectors on both ends. Thus, connection of two such cables requires an HDMI female to female coupler/adapter, which has two female plugs. These couplers are available from several online retailers.

Navigate to the online retailer websites and purchase either a VIGOR HD-1002A or an ADP-3785 HDMI female to female coupler (see Resources).

Plug a connector of the first HDMI cable into either end of the coupler.

Plug a connector of the second HDMI cable into the second end of the coupler.
