How to Get a Citronella Fuel Smell Out of Clothes
People don't typically buy citronella candles for their smell---they buy them because they help ward off mosquitoes. If you end up splashing yourself with the fuel from a citronella candle and have successfully cleaned up the resulting stain, the smell may still linger. Sometimes, hanging the garment outside for a few days is all that is necessary to remove the smell. But if that doesn't work, you'll have to soak the garment in a bath. Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings
You can also put the hot water and baking soda, washing soda or borax in a basin or a plugged-up sink instead of in the washing machine. This is helpful if you need to wash other loads or if the garment is hand-wash only.
Don't add baking soda, washing soda and borax. Only use one.
