MOD files are commonly associated with digital camcorders manufactured by JVC, Panasonic and Canon.

Depending on the make and model of your digital camcorder, your home videos may be saved as MOD files. You may have noticed, however, that the video format is not compatible with Windows Movie Maker. If you want to use your MOD videos in the popular movie making program, install Windows Live Movie Maker. The software is compatible with Windows 7 and Vista, and it supports MOD files.
