Instructions

    • 1

Wash your pig using mild soap or a horse shampoo.

    • 2

Use a soft-bristled scrub brush to wash stains or tough dirt from your pig's legs and belly.

    • 3

Shave your entire pig a few days before the show. Use a 3/4-inch guard or 1-inch guard on pet clippers.

    • 4

Keep in mind that it may take two or three days to clip your pig. Work slowly and gently. When the animal gets tired, take a break so you can both rest.

    • 5

Clean your pig at the show, making sure its feet are clean.

    • 6

Wipe all sawdust from the pig before you take it into the ring.

Tips & Warnings

  • Take any equipment you need in a box to keep with your animal. Include garden hose, rubber boots, old towels, scrub brush, soap, clippers, show stick, rags, and buckets for water and feed.

after you show the pigs make sure to get your pens cleaned well at your barn at home where they were raised. if you don't do this it may spread disease from the previous year to hogs you get in the future.

pig love- if you really want to bond with your pig and make it very happy you need to take your hand and rub its belly reall fast. It will fall over and will love you forever. (p.s. rub right abve the pigs teets.)
