How to Fix for Windows XP Time Problem
Normally, the Windows clock, which appears at the right of the Windows taskbar, keeps time as accurately as any other timepiece. It keeps up with Daylight Saving Time if you ask it to and links to a basic calendar; but mainly, it sits on your taskbar and lets you know what time it is. If the clock becomes inaccurate there are two easy fixes.

Right-click on the taskbar and choose "Adjust Date/Time." This opens the Date and Time Properties dialog.

Type the correct time in the field below the analog clock in the dialog.

Click on the tab marked "Internet time." Place a checkmark in the box labeled "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server."

In the drop-down box underneath the box you just checked, choose a server. Click on the button marked "Update Now." Click on "OK." Your clock should now be synchronized and correct.
