How to Connect Carpet Squares
Carpet squares, also known as modular carpeting, come in a variety of fiber styles including nylon, Olefin, wool and fiber blends. The squares are backed with a padding that offers cushion and support. Carpet squares are durable and ideal for both commercial and residential environments. They are easy to clean and maintain with methods used for cleaning traditional carpeting. The squares are connected with a glueless system that uses adhesive strips so no additional chemicals or adhesives are needed during the installation process. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
-
-
1
Sweep or vacuum the room or area where the carpet squares will be installed.
-
2
Lay out the squares upside on the floor. You will see arrows on the back of the carpet squares and a sticky adhesive strip on each square. The arrow will assist you with lining each square up correctly on the floor.
-
-
3
Start with two carpet squares and look for a sticky adhesive strip located on one side of the carpet square.
-
4
Pull off the sticky adhesive strip from the side of one of the carpet squares.
-
5
Line the arrows on the first carpet square up with the second carpet square. Do not press the two carpet squares together yet. Make sure the arrows line up correctly.
-
6
Press the carpet squares together with force to bond the sticky adhesive strip to the second carpet square.
-
7
Repeat for the next two carpet squares you want to connect.
-
8
Continue connecting the carpet squares together until you have completed one row of squares or work in a four-part grid so you don't have to try and press together two long rows of carpet squares.
-
9
Walk on the floor with some pressure to seal the adhesive bonding strips together. The more you walk on the carpet squares, the better the bond will become.

Tips & Warnings
To speed up the installation process, plan out how you want to lay the carpet squares---in rows, using a grid or some other layout. Sketch out the layout on a piece of paper so you can refer to the layout if you get distracted.
