How to Host a Successful Amazon Book Launch
For most authors, seeing their books in print is a big deal. Seeing it posted on Amazon is a bigger deal. However, you cannot just post a book on Amazon and hope that it does well. You must work at it to make the launch of your book successful. Amazon is a big website and, with the number of books they carry, yours will probably get lost if you do not promote it when it comes out. There are plenty of things you can do to help make your Amazon book launch a success.

Use your writing skills to create a newsletter or bulletin to announce the launch of your book on Amazon. Make this an eye-popping newsletter. Use large print and add a lot of color. Examine it closely to make sure there are no typos in it. Have a friend read it to double check for you. Prepare your newsletter or bulletin well in advance. Do not try to do this the same day your book comes out on Amazon.

Compose an email list to which you can send your announcement. Copy and paste your newsletter into the body of an email and send it to all of your friends and family. Encourage them to forward the email to people they know who might be interested. Send the emails the morning of the launch.

Buy a mailing list and prepare to mail a lot of fliers. Print out your newsletter. Have a professional printer do the work for you for better quality. Fold the flier into thirds, staple and affix sticky labels with printed addresses. Make sure to send these out a day or two before the launch on Amazon.

Choose a date for your Amazon launch. Look at a calendar to choose the best day. Choose a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Do not launch on a Monday or a Friday when most people are either getting prepared for their work week or their weekend and do not have time to peruse the Internet. Do not choose the day before a holiday.

Announce the book launch on your website or your blog. List this several days before and create a calendar to count down the days so all your followers will know when they can purchase the book from Amazon.
