How to Clear the Memory on a Brother Copier

Brother markets a line of copiers for residential and small business use that have electronic controls. You can change a Brother copier's default settings and add fonts and macros to customize the copier. At any point, you can reset the copier to the state it was in when it was shipped from the factory. Resetting the memory on the Brother copier will remove all macros and fonts that were added to the copier as well as return all parameters to the factory-default settings.

      Press "Menu," then press the number pair corresponding to your model of Brother copier. Press "4," "4" for MCF models. Press "3," "4" for model DCP-8085DN. Press "3," "3" for model DCP-8080DN.

      Press the up or the down arrow key to select "1. Reset" to restore the copier's default settings.

      Press "Stop/Exit" to exit the menu and return to standby mode.
