How to Import Wireless Network Settings Using a USB Flash Drive
Setting up a wireless network goes much faster if you spread the information with a USB flash drive instead of trying to go from computer to computer and entering the network settings manually. Plugging the flash drive into the other computers is enough to import the settings and all that's left for you to do is accept the invitation to become part of the network.

Connect your network devices to a computer. These devices include a modem, a router, and wireless network cards (unless the items in your network have network cards installed already).

Set up your network. In Windows XP, you'll click on the "Start" icon to pull up the Start Menu, then click on "All Programs," "Accessories," "Communications," and "Wireless Network Setup Wizard." In Windows Vista, go to the Start Menu, click on "Network," click on "Network and Sharing Center" in the toolbar at the top of the screen, and then click on "Set up a connection or network." Network set-up wizards will open, and you can follow the instructions to create a wireless network.

Choose to create a network with a USB flash drive, and then insert the flash drive into the computer's USB port when the wizard tells you to do so.

Save the wireless settings to the USB flash drive by following the directions in the wizard. When the settings are saved, you're ready to add other computers to the network.

Remove the USB flash drive from the computer and insert it into another computer. When the flash drive blinks, it is loading the wireless settings to the computer.

Allow the computer to become part of the network by accepting the invitation that appears in a pop-up window.

Add as many computers as you want to the network and save the network passwords in a Notepad document, in case either of the computers is kicked off the network for some reason.
