How to Change Batteries in a Logitech MX Laser Mouse
Logitech's MX Laser Mouse has a double battery compartment for two AA batteries), but the mouse only needs one battery to operate. Use the battery indicator light on the front of the mouse to help you determine when a battery should be changed. When the light turns from green to red, at least one of your batteries need to be replaced within a week.

Flip over the mouse to access the power switch and battery compartment. Move the power switch to the "Off" position.

Push the battery release door towards the arrow. When the battery compartment door partially opens, lift it with your finger.

Remove the old batteries from the mouse. Pry away the edge of the batteries with your finger.

Insert the new batteries with the "positive" (+) sign facing the "positive" terminal in the battery compartment.

Replace the battery compartment door. Push down the door to snap it back into the mouse. Turn the mouse back on and test it.

You can operate the Logitech MX Laser Mouse with a single battery. The second compartment can be empty, or it can contain a dead battery.
