How to Recreate Angelina Jolie's Eye Look from "Wanted"

Angelina Jolie is an American actress known for her roles in the "Tomb Raider" films as well as the film "Wanted." In "Wanted," during many scenes Angelina wears a dark smoky eye look. The wearable version of this look features black shadow that is defined by a sheer charcoal color in the crease. It also features fully lined upper and lower lash lines, as opposed to one or the other, which is typical of most dark eye looks. Any skin color can wear this smoky eye look as well as any hair and eye color. Angelina's look is best worn in the evening with an updo or a long, wavy hairstyle.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Eye primer
  • Black eyeliner pencil
  • Liner brush
  • Black eye shadow
  • Shadow brush
  • Flesh-toned eye shadow
  • Highlighting brush
  • Crease brush
  • Sheer charcoal gray eye shadow
  • Black mascara
  1. Step 1

Apply eye primer to the brow bone and eyelids with your fingers. Eye primer prevents eye shadow from cracking. It is usually in a cream or gel form. Either is acceptable for this makeup application.

  2. Step 2

Apply black eyeliner to your upper and lower lash lines. Make sure your line is neat and straight on the upper lash line.

  3. Step 3

Use a liner brush to smudge the outer two-thirds of your lower lash line. This will create a slightly messy look that helps with the overall smoky eye effect.

  4. Step 4

Apply black eye shadow to the eyelid with a shadow brush.

  5. Step 5

Apply a flesh-toned eye shadow to the brow bone with a highlighting brush.

  6. Step 6

Use a crease brush to blend a charcoal gray eye shadow into the eye crease. To blend, simply sweep the charcoal color from the outer corner inward towards the inner crease area. Do this until the charcoal color is soft and melds with the black shadow.

  7. Step 7

Apply black mascara to the upper lash line only to complete this look.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wiggling the mascara wand at the root may help prevent clumping.
