How to Connect S-Video From a Toshiba Satellite to a TV
With a Toshiba Satellite laptop computer and a television with compatible inputs, you can use an S-Video cable to connect them. Your particular version of Windows will take a unique path to display on both screens, but every television will share the same steps for its end of the process.

- Toshiba Satellite with S-Video output
- TV with S-Video input
- S-Video cable

Connect the S-Video cable to the TV, usually in the back or the side. It is a small, round, black plug with either four pins or seven pinholes, depending on which end you are holding. Plug the other end into the Toshiba Satellite, on the side of the case.

Turn on your Toshiba Satellite and your television.

Change the input on the TV to S-Video, either with the remote control or by using the "Input" button on the front or side of the TV.

On a Windows 7 Toshiba Satellite, press the Windows key and "P" at the same time to instantly pull up a menu asking you to spit the video signal out to the television. If you're running XP or Vista, right-click the desktop and choose either "Properties" or "Personalize". Click "Connect to a projector or other external display" on a Vista machine, or the "Display" tab on an XP machine.

Choose the television as your destination monitor, then click "Apply" and "Done".
