How to Get Candle Wax Off of Glass Candle Holders
Glass candle holders, particularly hurricane lamps and votive cups, are popular because of the way they disperse the light, especially if they are cut or etched. When wax drips into or onto the glass surface and hardens, it can sometimes be difficult to remove because of the design of the candle holder or the formula of the wax. You typically can remove much of the wax with a stiff plastic scraper, but the remainder of the wax must be melted off. Does this Spark an idea?

Scrape as much of the wax from the candle holder as possible with a stiff plastic scraper. Do not use metal, as this will scratch the glass.

Place the candle holder in a saucepan full of water and place it over medium to high heat. Most candle wax will melt below 150 degrees F, so when you see the wax start to melt, turn off the heat.

Take the candle holder out of the pot and immediately wipe off the loose and liquefied wax with a paper towel.

Repeat as necessary to get the wax out of all the crevices.

Tips & Warnings
Alternatively, you can put the candle holder on an old baking sheet and place it in an oven heated to no more than 200 degrees.
Do not heat the water and then place the candle holder in the pot as this could crack or shatter the glass.
The glass candle holder may be very hot, especially if cleaned in the oven. Use caution and oven mitts when handling the hot candle holders.
