How to Connect an iPod to an HP TouchSmart Computer
The iPod has come a long way since it first hit the market back in 2001. The earliest iPods played music and had very basic games on them. But as of December 2009, most iPods play music, movies, TV shows, podcasts and more sophisticated games. In order to get that content onto your iPod, you must first connect it to a computer. And despite the fact that the iPod is made by Apple, you do not need an Apple computer to accomplish the task. Any computer with iTunes--including HP's TouchSmart series--can be used with your iPod.

Tips & Warnings
While it's optional, the iPod dock can save you the hassle of messing with cords and moving your computer around to plug the USB cable in.
If your iPod is connected to a low-powered USB port, it will slow down the rate at which songs and videos are transferred to your iPod.
