How to Block All Game Sites

If your computer is being used for online gaming, you might be desperately searching for a way to stop the constant influx of ads, emails and saved data that comes with these sites. This can be accomplished fairly easily for Windows with some basic computer knowledge and some friendly guidance.

      Open the "Tools" menu in the browser. Navigate to the "Privacy" tab, and open the "Sites" box. Input the addresses of the websites you'd like to block.

      Click "Start" and open the "Accessories" box, then click on "Command Prompt." In the ensuing box, type in the following:
      notepad C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts

      Locate the text line that says: 127.0.0.1 localhost

      Underneath this, type the following:
      127.0.0.1 gamesite.com
      127.0.0.1 www.gamesite.com

      Change "gamesite" to the name of the website you'd like to block, and repeat this step for every site you'd like your browser to block.

      Save the file and restart your computer to allow the changes to take effect.
