How to Measure a Pillow Form for a Pillow
Whether you are making a cover for a pillow or purchasing one, it is important to know the exact dimensions of your pillow form before you proceed with covering it. Do not assume that the dimensions printed on the outside of the pillow form package are exact. If you do not measure the pillow form accurately, you may end up with a pillow cover that is too tight or too loose.

Place the pillow form on a flat surface.

Lay the tape measure horizontally over the center of the pillow form with the beginning of the tape measure at the left-side seam of the pillow form.

Stretch the tape measure horizontally over the center of the pillow. Make sure the tape measure is taut and extend it to the right-side seam of the pillow form.

Write down the measurement on the paper.

Lay the tape measure vertically over the center of the pillow form with the beginning of the tape measure at the top-side seam of the pillow form.

Stretch the tape measure vertically over the center of the pillow. Make sure the tape measure is taut and extend it down to the bottom side seam of the pillow form.

Write down the measurement on the paper.

Use these exact measurements to create or purchase a pillow cover if you want a snug and firm pillow cover. If you desire a pillow cover with slightly more room in it, add ½-inch to each dimension and purchase or make a pillow cover with these dimensions.
