Christmas recipe cards add a nice touch to holiday presents. You can tuck them inside a gift as a little surprise. Or you can stick them on a box of home-baked goodies if you want to share your recipe with the recipient.

Below is how you can make and print your own free personalized recipe cards for Christmas. You can print them at home and even add your own photos!

  • 4"x6" Premium Plus Photo Paper or 4"x6" Advanced Photo Paper

Instructions

    • 1

      Do a search for "free printable recipe cards" or similar in your favorite search engine. For this tutorial, we will use HP's Activity Center as a demonstration.

      Scroll down until you see "Cards & Stationery." Click on the link.

      On the Cards & Stationery menu, click on "By Type" under "Recipe Cards." This will bring up a popup menu. Pick "Holidays/Seasons" and "Christmas."

      You will see different types of holiday recipe cards. For this example, choose "Christmas 4x8 Recipe Cards." First, placeyour mouse over it and view the "Quick Info." It will show you what can be done with the template and what materials you will need. Then click on the image.

      Select the recipe card template you like. You will see the card template with blank fields in it.

      Enter the name of your Christmas recipe in the title field.

      Enter the ingredients in the next field. Adjust font size if necessary.

      Enter the cooking instructions in the last field. Adjust the font size or shorten your description if necessary.

      To add a picture, click on "Import Photos" on the lower left of the screen. You will be asked where to get the pictures from. If from your computer, you then browse for an image file on your computer.

      Upload the photo. Drag it to the empty photo area in the template.

      Click on "Preview and Print." You will see a previvew of your recipe card. Follow the printing instructions. Note the recommended paper type, brand and size.

      Print when you're ready. Use the printing paper according to package directions.

Tips & Warnings

  • There is limited space in the card. You may have to adjust the font to a smaller size if your description or ingredients list is too long.

  • If you don't like the template, click on "Browse Gallery" for other styles and themes.

  • Always make a test print first to avoid wasting special paper!
