Things You'll Need:
- 1 dozen eggs
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- optional, onion, paprika, powdered sugar
-
Step 1
Start off your deviled eggs by boiling all the eggs. The perfect way to do this is to add all the eggs to a deep pot and cover entirely with cold water and 1tbsp white vinegar. Cover the pot and bring to a rolling boil. Turn the stove off and leave the pot on the burner with the lid on. Keep the eggs there for 15 minutes. Now drain the boiling water and rinse the eggs in cool water and peel. You should have perfectly cooked, easy to peel eggs at this point.
-
Step 2
Make sure you remove all the shell from the boiled eggs. Gently pat down the eggs with a paper towel to remove any moisture. Cut the eggs lengthwise and remove all the yolks and put them in a separate bowl.
-
Step 3
Arrange your egg whites on a cookie sheet or large platter. Take your egg yolks and add the mustard and mayo and mix very well.
-
Step 4
At this point you can customize the taste of the deviled egg filling by adding additional ingredients like; onion, olives, celery, a pinch of sugar, peppers, or pickled relish.
-
Step 5
Finish mixing your yolk mixtures and put it all in a plastic sandwich bag. Cut a small hole at the point of the bag and use to pipe into the egg whites. Top off each egg with a little paprika and arrange nicely on a platter. You can use some decorative lettuce or herbs to keep the eggs from slipping all over the plate. Keep eggs cool and then serve immediately.
