How to Connect a Samsung Optical Cable to a Denon Receiver

Denon receivers for home theater are equipped with more than a dozen different jacks for connecting a variety of audio/video components. The optical cable jacks are used for connecting digital components to the Denon receiver for transmitting the massive amounts of data required for high-definition video and multi-channel audio. Connecting a Samung optical cable to a Denon receiver is similar to connecting a telephone plug to a wall jack and takes only seconds to complete.

    • 2

Use the OPT.-1 to connect a high definition television with optical jacks by aligning the end shape of the plug with the jack on the Denon receiver and pushing the plug straight in. The narrower end of the plug should be positioned toward the left as it inserts into the jack.

    • 3

Insert a Samsung optical cable into the Denon receiver's OPT.-2 jack to connect a second component, such as a DVD or Blu-ray player.

    • 4

Connect the other ends of the cables to the corresponding components.

Tips & Warnings
