How to Connect a Tape Deck to an Audio System
Stereo tape decks require four audio connections from the deck to a receiver for playback and recording. The receiver acts as a signal switch between audio sources so the tape deck can record from a component such as a record player or another tape deck and then play back the recording through speakers connected to the receiver. Two sets of color-coded RCA audio cables connect the equipment in minutes.
