Not only is it quite easy to make fresh breadcrumbs, but they taste so much better than the pre-made variety. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, if you would like a toasted flavor on the breadcrumbs. If you simply want to dry the breadcrumbs, preheat your oven to 175 degrees Fahrenheit.

Place the breadcrumbs on a dry baking sheet. You do not need to grease or line the sheet, since a dry sheet will work much better to toast and dry the crumbs.

Season the breadcrumbs, if you desire. Tasty choices in which to flavor the crumbs include salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano and Italian seasoning.

Place the sheet into the oven. The length of time to cook the crumbs depends on the bread and your oven. Turn the breadcrumbs over a few times to ensure even cooking on both sides and cook them until they are a light brown.
