Choose your new base cabinet to fit with the sink. Base cabinets are usually 36 inches in width but if you are using a bigger sink you must choose a bigger base cabinet. Remove the old kitchen sink and base cabinet. Make sure the water is shut off and use the hacksaw if necessary to cut the plumbing. Make sure the floors and walls are level by using a carpenter's level. Put down new plywood and shim to make sure the floor is level.

Use a tape measure to measure the base cabinet. Mark the area where you measured to make sure it will go on the wall evenly. Put the cabinet on the wall and level the front and back. After it is level, use a drill to attach it to the wall. Shim it if needed to make it level. Drill holes for the plumbing in the back of the cabinet and make sure they are lined up with the plumbing.

Place the kitchen sink in. If the sink fits right, the base cabinet is in right. Make sure to re-connect the plumbing and turn the water back on.
