How to Find Nearby Boxing Classes for Kids

Finding boxing classes for children is simple. However, it requires several steps to makes sure that your child is safe and in a productive learning environment. It takes a different mentality to teach boxing to children than it does adults, so you want to make sure they will learn the proper techniques. Also, beware of the dangers of boxing (See first reference below). For safety reasons, it is also a good idea to look up a trainer's name on a background check or ask other parents who use him or her.

Start by using a standard search engine (Bing, Google, etc.). Type in the words "boxing gym" and the name of your city.

    • 2

Once the search results have come up, click on a link you find interesting.

    • 4

Once you have found a youth boxing class, the trainer's name should be listed. You may or may not feel it necessary but a background check is an option (See Resource 1).

Once the class ends, take a few minutes to speak with the instructor. Ask him about the age range, general form of the class, and safety.
