      With the power on, lift the printer cover and watch for the print cartridges to move to the center. Carefully remove the old cartridges by gripping them on the sides and pulling them free of the holder. Set the used print cartridges aside for recycling.

      Remove the new print cartridges from the protective wrapping and take off the protective tape. This tape is orange in color. When removing the protective tape, be sure to pull it in the direction of the printed arrow. Do not remove the cartridge from its wrapping until you are ready to put it in the printer.

      Insert the color cartridge in the right-hand slot and then insert the black printer cartridge in the left-hand slot. To insert the cartridge, simply push on it until you feel it click into place.

      Close the printer cover and wait for the printer to warm up. The initialization process usually takes about two minutes after the installation of new print cartridges.
