How to Get Past Harassment on Your Internet Workplace

It's a no-brainer. We are here at Ehow, all with a purpose of some kind. It doesn't matter what category that I fall in. I consider myself a good colleague. This is a job, though electronic, it is a job.

I work hard to cultivate and keep up with my friends. I send out personal messages and follow up on friendships. I venture to give advice if I can when asked or point members in the right direction if I cannot.

I was in the workplace years before the Internet and developed relationships that still exist today. I know ethics. I try hard to be what I am and when I know that I have failed, I let go.....

I try to write good articles and pull from what I know. I AM STILL a novice, however. There is a lot that I still have to learn and I am willing. I can accept constructive criticism, article removals and still attempt to maintain decorum. So why do I get harassed?

To be honest, I do not CARE. That's the tragedy that arises from the harassed to the harasser. Nobody cares what you think. What matters is that those of us who are harassed have to stop what we're doing to deal with you and to be honest, you are not worth it............

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The minute you see a ghostly figure that has just connected to this site and the very same day has courted you as a friend OR even worse, have left a nasty comment to your article, or implying remark you must put things in order right away.

  2. Step 2

Right at the message in your 'inbox' look below the message and report as abuse. The dialog box will tell you that the abuse has been reported.

  3. Step 3

Go to the entities profile and see that there has been no article written, no friends. Under the entity's image, report abuse there as well. You will be asked what type of abuse, i.e. personal attack, hateful speech, racial, threat, etc. Give the best description of the remark/comment as you can.

  4. Step 4

Go to your emails and report him/her as spam there as well....

  5. Step 5

Send an email with complete details of what was said and how it was said to Ehow and wait for the turn-over time for a response.

  6. Step 6

Send the abuser to the ignore list. Then, as best you can forget it. Neither you or anyone else deserves to be harassed in the workplace, no matter if this is cyber workplace. We are people.

How can you target someone to hate or to dislike just because you can? And if you target them, why not present yourself and your reasons as a human and let the chips fall where they may? Nothing or no one is more reprehensible than one who would hide out while he throws out these remarks and unfortunately, there are no police on the Internet. The Internet can be a perfect place for someone to hide out, but I wonder what type of life lies behind someone that chooses to act this way. I would venture to say that there is no life at all and it truly does not matter what you think. Who cares. But it certainly matters what you do.
