How to Grow an Exotica Perfecta Dieffenbachia House Plant
The exotica perfecta dieffenbachia is one of the members of the tropical plant family, Araceae. The dieffenbachia is commonly seen in homes and offices. It is truly a beautiful plant. Its leaves have a variation of greens, yellows and white subtly flowing from the center of the leaf to the darker green edge. The exotica perfecta, or ex perfecta, has leaves that are large and well textured. The light green and white at the middle of the leaf comes out to a beautiful well defined dark green edge. Decide how big you want your plant to grow. Choose a pot for the size plant you want. Place a cloth wick at the bottom of the pot, coming out of the drainage hole. This will make sure the plant does not get overwatered. Put a couple inches of dirt in the bottom of the new pot. Gently remove your dieffenbachia from its old pot and carefully set the plant in the new pot. Fill the pot with potting soil and water thoroughly.

Fertilize the dieffenbachia during its growing season of March to September. About once a month is fine. Do not fertilize in the winter.

Water regularly during the growing season, spring through summer. During the winter, cut back on the watering, allowing the soil to dry out between watering. Mist frequently with a mister and wash the leaves with water occasionally.

Place the plant near a point of light source if you are using indoor light. If it does not have a direct source of light then it will grow in many directions searching for one. If you are using the sun as a light source, plant requires partial shade from the sun in the summer and bright light in the winter.

Tips & Warnings
This plant is poisonous. The leaves and stem, and even the sap that comes out of it, if ingested or even put in the mouth can cause difficulty breathing and swelling of the mouth and tongue, and suffocation, especially in children and pets. Even a little bit can cause numbness to the tongue and vocal chords, vomiting and diarrhea. Wash your hands after touching this plant and keep it away from children and pets.
Do not put the plant in a draft. The plant thrives on average to above average temperatures, never below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
