How to Download Music Off YouTube for Mac

YouTube is a popular website that allows you to watch and upload videos from around the world. Many of the videos on the site include music, whether it's a music video or just a track from a movie. Although the site itself does not support downloading the videos or the audio from the videos, it is possible to download the content with an outside program installed onto your computer.

• Orbit software

Instructions

1. Download Internet Explorer onto your Mac. The Orbit software can work on any version of Internet Explorer. The YouTube download application does not function properly with or support Safari or Firefox web browsers.

2. Download and install the free Orbit software. This software allows you to rip (copy) content from YouTube, including the music that is playing on the video. A link provided in "Resources" has the download file. After installation, a small tab will appear on your Internet Explorer web browser.

3. Navigate to YouTube and select the video from which you want to download the music.

4. Play the video. The Orbit software will latch onto the video link. This gives the Orbit software the correct information needed to copy the video. Allow the entire video to play.

5. Click the "Download It" button on the Orbit tab found in Internet Explorer. The software will download the music from the video. Depending on the length of the video, this process may take several minutes. Once complete, you can begin listening to the music.
