How to Make Violet and Almond Eye Cream
Violet and almond eye cream is a simple, natural cream used to refresh and rejuvenate tired-looking eyes. Best applied before bed, this eye cream will tighten and firm the skin while you sleep, even if you can't get as much sleep as you would like. Making your own eye creams can also save you money, as commercial products tend to be expensive. Things You'll Need
- 1 cup chopped violet flowers
- 1/2 cup fresh horsetail
- 1 cup sweet almond oil
- 2 tbsp. beeswax, grated
- 1/2 tsp. vitamin E oil
- 10 drops chamomile essential oil

Place the violet flowers on a disposable kitchen towel overnight to wilt. Do not cover the flowers.

Place the wilted violet flowers and horsetail in a double boiler. Add the almond oil and simmer for five hours over low heat.

Strain the contents of the double boiler through a fine-sieve into a clean saucepan or mixing bowl. Discard the solids.

Add the beeswax to the reserved oil and stir with a wooden spoon or disposable stirrer. Add the vitamin E oil and chamomile essential oil and stir.

Transfer the violet and almond eye cream to a small glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.

Tips & Warnings
To use, apply around the eye starting from the outside and working in. Allow the skin to absorb the eye cream without wiping off excess moisture.
Avoid mixing or storing any type of homemade skin care products in an aluminum container, as there is serious concern about heavy metals entering the body through the pores.
