How to Block Ads on Web Pages in Vista
Although a fair amount of websites require the revenue from advertisements to remain free, some web advertisements are downright dirty and in your face. Blocking these overwhelming ads is an easy task thanks to the extensibility of Mozilla's Firefox web browser. Follow this guide to blocking advertisements on your Windows Vista system.

Download and install the free, open-source browser from Mozilla, Firefox. Make sure to select the Windows Vista version.

Open Firefox. Navigate to Firefox's add-on directory and find Adblock (see Resources).

Download the Adblock extension from Firefox's add-on page. Firefox allows for third-party add-ons that enhance the functionality. You can choose from a number of different ad-blocking extensions, though Adblock is by far the most popular. Firefox will automatically install the extension.

Restart Firefox. Most of the ads you would normally see will be gone. You can click on the "Adblock" icon in the Firefox toolbar to unblock ads on a particular webpage if things render strangely.
