How to Recreate Lady Gaga's "Fame Monster" Make-up

"The Fame Monster" is the newest album from singer Lady Gaga. Her makeup look on the CD cover features a monochromatic eye of black and white with dramatic black tears leaking down the face. The recreation of this look is much more wearable and features a darker crease, red lips and plump eye lashes. Pale silver is added in this version of the look to help illuminate the eye without having to resort to a shimmer eye shadow. This look is suitable for day or evening, but it is recommended that this be worn as a costume look or theme party look. Any skin tone can wear this look, as can any eye color. Blond or black hair color looks most flattering with this makeup. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Apply eye primer to your eyelids with your fingers using a patting motion. After the primer, add foundation to the face using your fingers to blend the foundation well.

    • 2

Pat a white cream eye shadow onto the eyelid with a shadow brush. Pat from the inner corner outward toward the outer corner. Don't worry about smooth application because you will be blending the shadow with other colors.

    • 3

Apply a pale silver eye shadow into the outer corner of the eye with a blending brush, and blend the the color inward toward the inner crease area---"blending" is a smooth sweeping motion. Keeping your hand steady, you will sweep from the outer corner inward with the brush until the colors meld together.

    • 4

Flip the blending brush over, and apply a black eye shadow to the outer corner of the silver and blend it into the crease as well.

    • 5

Apply black eye liner to the upper and lower lash line. Keep the liner as neat as possible.

    • 6

Apply black mascara to the top and bottom lashes. For the bottom lashes, the emphasis will be on the outer lashes, so exercise care in that area.

    • 7

Use your fingers to pat lip balm on your lips. Follow the lip balm with a ruby red lipstick. The red is a stark contrast to the black and white on the eyes and will only enhance the dramatic effect of this look.
