How to Put Names in Wax Tarts
Making homemade wax tarts is a creative way to keep your home smelling like your favorite scent. They are also thoughtful gifts for friends and family. If you want to give either homemade or even store-bought wax tarts as gifts, consider stamping the recipient's name into the wax for an even more personal touch. To get started, you will need to learn how to use wax seals to make impressions in your wax tarts.
Things You'll Need
- Alphabet wax seal set
- Lit candle (or other small open flame)
- Wax tarts (homemade or purchased)

1
Allow any homemade wax tarts to cool completely and set up before beginning. Wax on the surface may set up within minutes, but it could take four or more hours for the tarts to be hardened enough to stamp.
-
2
Purchase an alphabet wax seal set. Seals are available at craft stores or from websites such as letterseals.com. If you don't need an entire alphabet, you can purchase only the letters in the name you are stamping.

3
Heat the wax seal for the first letter of the name next to a lit candle about 2 inches away from the flame. Do not hold the wax seal directly in or over the flame, as it is dangerous and will leave black soot all over your wax tart.
-
4
Press the wax seal firmly into the area of the wax tart where you want the name to start. Do not wiggle or drag the seal, simply lift to remove it.
-
5
Continue with the same heating and stamping process until all of the letters in the name have been stamped.
