Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the water supply underneath the sink before repairing your Price Pfister kitchen faucet.

    • 2

Find the set screw in the handle. It will be either in the front or the back of the part of the handle closest to the base. Using an Allen wrench, remove the handle set screw.

    • 3

Pull the handle off the base. Remove the collar that rests directly below the handle. Using a small adjustable wrench, remove the round retaining nut around the top edge of the cartridge. This will expose the cartridge.

    • 4

Pull out the cartridge. You may be able to do this by hand or you may need pliers. Turn over the cartridge and remove the O-rings. Wipe the cartridge clean, removing all sediment. If there are any scratches or nicks in the holes in the cartridge where the O-rings go, you should replace the entire cartridge. Put the replacement O-rings onto the cartridge.

    • 5

Insert the cartridge into the faucet body, making sure to line up the tab on the cartridge to the slot in the faucet body. Put the faucet back together by reversing the above steps.

    • 6

If the faucet still leaks, you will have to replace the cartridge. Take the faucet apart as above, and take the cartridge to the hardware store to obtain a replacement. Place the new O-rings on the replacement cartridge and install it the same way you replaced the old cartridge. Reassemble the faucet.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you replace the cartridge, don't install the new cartridge without O-rings. The O-rings will not be pre-installed on the new cartridge.
