How to Use Roxio Creator 9 to Rip a CD

Roxio Creator 9 is a popular disc-authoring tool for Windows thanks to its ease of use and its powerful features. Ripping a CD using Roxio Creator is basically a one-click process, but since the program is aimed at authoring discs, the menu option is slightly obscured from view. Instead of an explicit "Rip" or "Burn" button on the toolbar, it is necessary to navigate through the menu bar to copy the files from a CD to your disk drive--but beyond that, ripping CDs with Roxio Creator is a simple process.

Instructions

1. Insert the CD you wish to rip into your CD/DVD drive. Launch Roxio Home under the Roxio Creator 9 folder in the Start menu.

2. Select "Audio," "Convert CDs."

3. Select the files you wish to rip from your CD.

4. Specify the destination folder you would like to copy the files to.

5. Click the red button to initiate the ripping process. A dialog will appear to detail the progress of the copy and alert you when the ripping is completed.
