How to Create Decorative Mirrors
You can quickly decorate a mirror with an abstract ceramic tile border. Ceramic tile gives you the flexibility to create an original mirror to suit your style. A few changes can turn your old mirror into a decorative piece. Does this Spark an idea?

Choose ceramic tile that matches your home décor. Measure the mirror to determine how much tile you will need to decorate the mirror. Buy extra tile to ensure that you will have enough.

Place the tile pieces on a thick towel. Cover the top of the tile with another thick towel.

Break the tile into small pieces by hitting it with a hammer. The size of the pieces will be a personal preference, but try to keep them between 1 to 2 inches for optimal results.

Spread adhesive on one piece of tile at a time. Check to ensure that the adhesive will secure the ceramic to the mirror.

Place the tile around the perimeter of your mirror. If your mirror has a frame, you can apply the tile to the frame itself. Glue one piece at a time until you finish one side of your mirror. Once you finish the first layer, add a second layer of tile to fill in the empty gaps from your first layer. Add a third layer to cover any additional empty space that still shows through the tile pieces.

Allow the mirror to dry for 24 hours. Once the mirror is dry, you can hang it on your wall.

Since this piece will be abstract, you can create any pattern you want out of the tiles. The key to decorating a tile mirror is to keep it unique. No two mirrors should look the same.
