      Examine the tag to see if there is an identifiable thread used to attach it to the pillow.

      Use a seam cutter, also called a seam ripper, picker or nipper, and slip it into one of the threads of the seam. Cut the thread in several places and lift the thread away to release the tag.

      Use a pair of sharp fabric scissors with thin blades and cut away the tag as close to the pillow fabric as possible for tags that are attached without separate stitching or with stitching that is difficult to separate from the threads used to create the pillow.

      Grasp the tag and pull it away from the pillow to cut as closely to the pillow as possible.
