How to Improve the Graphics on a Laptop

Laptops continue to evolve and become more compact. It's possible to improve the graphics on a smaller computer to get the best visual clarity possible within its screen size limitations. It is easy to assume these settings are already checked by default, but that is not always the case. Learn a fast and simple way to verify that your laptop computer resolution is set to show graphics in their glory, fully enhanced and altogether improved.

Instructions

1. Click "Start," then click "Run."

2. Type "desk.cpl" and "Enter."

3. Go to the "Settings" tab and then move the "Screen resolution" slider to the highest resolution setting available.

4. Click the down arrow under "Color quality" and select the highest bit available. When finished, click "Apply," then click "OK." If your settings are already at the maximum and you would still like to improve the graphics on your laptop, proceed to step 5.

5. Go to the "Settings" tab as instructed in step 3, but this time press "Troubleshoot" and follow the prompts to resolve the problem.

• Always enable "Automatic Updates" on your laptops.

• These steps apply to Windows OS.

• Increasing the screen resolution intensifies the pixels but decreases the amount of information that can be displayed on the screen. To see the difference, try moving the slider all the way to the lowest setting in step 3. You may still find that a higher resolution is best for laptop graphics.
