How to Clear Out Form Fill in Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer versions 6 and higher have a feature called "Auto Complete," sometimes referred to as "Form Fill." This feature records previously entered data from specific forms, such as user names and passwords. You can clear out the form fill history without deleting your browsing history. You can also turn the feature off and protect your privacy.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on "Tools" in the right corner of browser, and then click on "Delete Browsing History." Wait for the options menu to appear.

    • 2

Select "Form Data" and click "Delete Forms." Click "Yes" to confirm. This will delete your form fill history without deleting your browsing history.

    • 3

Turn off the feature, if desired. To turn it off, click on "Tools," and choose "Internet Options." Click on the "Content" tab.

    • 4

Click on "Settings" underneath the tab "Auto Complete." Deselect "Forms" and "User Names and Passwords." Click "Ok" to confirm. Internet Explorer will no longer auto fill your forms.
