How to Buy a Refurbished Dell
The cost of electronics can be too high for many people, especially during times of a national economic crisis. It's during these times when refurbished products, like computers, are frequently sought after. While you probably won't find any refurbished Dell computers in any major department stores, there are resources on the Internet to help you find the perfect refurbished Dell at a lower cost than anything new in stores.

1
Talk with a professional or research on your own using the Internet about types of Dell computers regarding size, memory, and add-ons that will fit your needs. If you mainly need a computer for Internet access, for example, a lightweight netbook may be all you'll need. However, if you'll need a computer to store your digital images, music, and important files, you may need something with extra memory and a CD/DVD player included.

Visit the Dell website at www.dell.com to see what current models of computers they have available. Though these aren't refurbished, you'll get an idea of what models are more current and what models to look for when actually searching refurbished models. Keep color in mind, as well, when searching because refurbished models may or may not come in the color you desire. If you have a specific color in mind, be sure to have a backup or two just in case.

Visit Dell's outlet online shop at www.dell.com/outlet to view their selection of refurbished and sale models of computers. Here you will find the biggest selection of newly refurbished models of Dell computers. The computers you find here will be less expensive than the computers found on Dell's main website, but will still have a Dell warranty attached to them. Keep favorites in mind or write them down before moving onto Step 4.

Check other websites like eBay.com and Amazon.com for the models you've found on Dell's website and Dell's outlet shop. Those websites may have refurbished Dells for even less than you'll find on the outlet site. However, keep in mind that these will most likely not include any warranty. Decide whether or not the price difference is worth the lack of warranty for what your needs are.
