How to Become a Model for Motorcross
You've seen them on calendars, envied them in magazines, and dreamed of emulating them: sexy, hair-tossing motocross models who, despite time spent on the bike in the most rugged environments, always manage to look hot and gorgeous. Is your dream of modeling focused on this compelling, all-out cycling sport? You'll have to get yourself into the best shape possible if you want to compete with the crème de la crème of those who have already walked the raceway in high heels. Start out by reading the following tips, wait for the flag, and start your hair tossing.

Know the world, culture, and business of motocross sports like the back of your carefully manicured hand. Bookmark TWMX.com and other websites to keep up with motocross news, subscribe to TransWorld Motocross Magazine and other publications, and keep tabs on events that showcase models during or after events.

Ask a professional photographer---preferably one specializing in fashion and glamour---to shoot head and full-body photos for a model's composite or sample book. Dress in outfits that shout motocross. Opt for location shots so you appear with, on, and around bikes to show you know how to work your props. Ask the photographer to shoot digital images, put them on their website for downloading, or have the studio burn a disk with high-resolution images in JPEG format.

3
Create a model's composite using your photos by setting up an 8.5-inch by 11-inch landscape page in your word processing or layout software program. Insert five of your best JPEGs---a mix of head and body shots---and a text box that lists your name, height, weight, and contact information. Output---or have an office supply store print---a supply of composites so you can mail your information to motocross publications and sites.

4
Don't leave home without your model's composite. Head for Daytona International Speedway and other venues that host pro racing and sport bike events. Make it your mission to get your composite into the hands of anyone in a position to use you as a model---event managers, media, and racing brands. Find motocross-related businesses on the Internet and mail each of them a composite with a short note explaining your desire to be a motocross model.

5
Find out whether or not TransWorld.net (links at the end of this article) are currently scheduling a model search, as some years they do and some years, they don't. Enter their competition online by providing the information they seek (most of which will already be on your model composite) to compete for the title of Miss TransWorld Motocross.

6
Hire an agent and explain your desire to be made available for auditions and shoots that originate with companies affiliated with motocross racing to position yourself for an actual career. Remember this: anyone can enter the annual TransWorld model search contest and even win, but if you get bookings to appear in print and broadcast ads, you'll also earn a nice living doing what many other women are willing to do for an unpaid beauty queen title.
